Teaching is a mutually respectful experience. It is an interactive sharing of knowledge and connection between two (or more) people of varying ages.

My Philosophy of Teaching
As a future teacher, I am committed to being a positive, equitable, enthusiastic, dedicated, and life-long learner. My passion for teaching stems from the desire to make a positive impact on my students, and to help them grow into confident, informed, and responsible members of society. I recognize that each student comes to my classroom with a unique background, set of experiences, and cultural identity, and it is my responsibility to create a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment where all students feel seen, heard, and valued.
In pursuit of this goal, I am committed to decolonizing the standard curriculum and bringing fresh and unique ideas to my classroom. This means challenging the dominant narratives and perspectives that have historically excluded or marginalized certain groups of people. It means seeking out and incorporating diverse perspectives, voices, and experiences that reflect the rich diversity of our society. It means being intentional about creating opportunities for students to critically examine their own biases and assumptions, and to engage in meaningful dialogue and action around issues of social justice and equity.
I am excited to bring my enthusiasm, creativity, and dedication to the classroom, and to work collaboratively with my students to co-create a learning environment that is engaging, relevant, and meaningful. I am committed to continually growing and learning as a teacher, and to staying up-to-date on the latest research and best practices in education. Ultimately, my goal is to empower my students to become lifelong learners, critical thinkers, and compassionate leaders who will make a positive difference in their communities and in the world.
My Teaching Statement
Teaching is an ever-evolving practice of sharing knowledge. I aim to provide a safe and encouraged classroom to push boundaries, ask questions, and create confident learners. My classroom encourages exploration of identity, diversity, representation, uniqueness, and an equitable experience for all learners .

A Quote Worth Sharing
When educating the minds of our youth, we must not forget to educate their hearts.
Dalai lama
The quotes above are all pieces of the large puzzle that is my teaching. Each of the philosophies capture in my own words how I envision my future classroom, as well allow people to get to know me through my words.
The quote I included from the Dalai Lama is one of my favourites because of how it reminds us of the importance of passion. I fell as though children often loose sight of the privilege and importance within going to school. As a teacher, we must educate young learners as well as remind them and encourage them to have passion towards what they are learning and why.
